Dp is a strain that if you get a good one it will be awesome - otherwise it will be something to give to your drinking buddies. The reason is that Dp is a landrace and hard to get right. The one I got from L'Eagle in Denver was perfect both in taste and potency. Durban is the only pot I know that after a few seconds of taking a hit, you won't remember it. Its a must try and second only to White Widow in popularity. ns
Wow this strain is something it can be energetic if you want it to or relaxing if you want it to be that's what I got from it it smells like minty basil probably one of the most interesting smelling strain that I've had and it has a nice berry not blueberry but just like a wild berry grape taste I definitely recommend this for pain and nausea I give this a 12 out of 10

Migraine pain 6; nausea 5 when I medicated round 1300 or so. Takes bout 5 min to start working. Pain/nausea gone. Head high strong but also energetic; got my laundry all folded & put away. Body high saved my @$$ from goin to the ER today; pain was goin bad fast before medicating. Piney/skunky taste, I love a good taste to my meds. Really makes for a positive experience. Highly recommend for daytime use for pain/nausea. :-)
This strain, though it is a sativa, the buds are quite dense and have a chalky green appearance, smothered in golden tobacco colored hairs. The odor is of lemon rind, sour with a background of floral earthiness, which reveals itself to be tea leaves later when smoked. Mentally we feel unusually happy and relaxed yet energetic and focused. A slight dissociative effect is created by the body not feeling very affected, a slight heaviness at most, versus these clearer, louder thoughts of a slightly euphoric tone but never quite reaching it. Colours are brighter, things seem more like a video game. Excellent for creativity. This would go well with studying, sport, meditation and sex.
Damn found two phenos out of 3 seeds. ..perrty good lol one super dense tight non stretching and oily. ..next one stretches alot and is super covered in tricomes not as dense but a huge yielder. ..I got so fucked I was dancing y'all. ..I don't dance. ..I don't dance lol...oh well it's super strong very potent. ..the smell is alot like girl scout cookies. ..but the taste description will wait till a week or two in the jar. ..still spicy and sweet tho...and um yeah it's sexy time with this strain too love that. ..; )
I am an occasional smoker. I tried Durban Poison with a Vaporizer and it felt really really good.
The stone is not so strong but it feels really good, relaxing, happy and easy going.
I think that The vaporize method really helped me to appreciate this strain.
This is the first bud I smoked in over 15 years. So basically, my tolerance was nothing. But I used to smoke a LOT so I was familiar with what I should expect. I bought this at a respectable shop... and I gotta say that the commercially developed product with budmasters who know what they are doing make a stunning difference. This stuff is way stronger than most of the bud from the old black market days where you really didn't know what you were getting... usually grown sloppy whatever bag seed in a basement somewhere or trucked over the border from a desert hillside. OK... so the Durban Poison was recommended as a quality sativa which I wanted because I like to stay active, and like the head trip since I'm a cerebral type. I don't like the couch lock feeling. I was cautious since it has been a long time since I smoked... so I took a smallish piece of bud and put it my new pipe. I took a few hesitant light hits, followed by 2 thick, strong ones and a final lighter but good one to finish off the bud. Within minutes I was quite high and giggling to myself thinking "oh yeah, I remember this." But it kept roaring on and soon I was having a full-on mind flush... I mean... God and Satan both tumbled out of the rainbow, stretching the fabric of time-space as they were launching poetry bombs that would effervesce through me in turn. The psycho-active effect in this batch was sizzling. I didn't trip visually but the head-gymnastics took me for a serious ride. Yeah, I over-did it and it was actually quite stressful because I wasn't prepared. I should have take ONE hit and see how it went. But it was fun and I came down gentle over the next 4 to 6 hours (which was nice) and landed on my feet without crashing which was great. I don't think I want to get that high again for awhile unless its a special occasion and I don't have anything to do, but since then, I have taken one or two hits here and there and felt a nice spacey high that was creative, trippy and let me stay engaged in my day. My re-introduction experience makes me want to indulge only occasionally so to keep my tolerance down. That was amazing.
Despite my initial shock, I found Durban Poison to be a great mental trip with lots of energy without immobilizing you and practically no negative effects except maybe a little dizziness. I found that as I was focused working on something, the high would seem to lift. But as I relaxed, it would return. Strong quality kava-kava root had a similar effect on me.
I felt a real sense of calmness and clarity that made me want to pray and be thoughtful of where I was, music was even more powerful and moving. Great medicine. Recommend for users wanting creative and mindful relaxation.
