Pre-98 Bubba Kush reviews

Okay so I've gotta give some background to my review: I've been smoking pretty regularly for four years, and I've tried many different medical strains for my anxiety/body pains. But lately I've been having some new issues with MJ that I've never had before... so this strain was a pleasant surprise. I don't know if my body and hormones are just changing or what, but lately I've become a one-hit wonder and very sensitive to pot. I'll smoke my normal amount and suddenly feel anxious or paranoid, even like I have to lay down with dizziness at times. I believe some of this has to do with the increasing potency of marijuana, especially at the medical level. Part of my issue is I think I stopped smoking enough to develop a high tolerance for these medical strains and so I decided to cut back on how many times I hit the weed when I smoke now. I've been searching for a really good indica (I stopped smoking sativa because of its tendency to increase my anxiety) with a body buzz. I bought this strain and just smoked a bowl of it and guys: oh my god. It's been weeks since I have been able to enjoy marijuana how I was enjoying it before I started to have all these issues. In my mind, I am relaxed and able to be rational when my anxiety is present. My body, in its places of pain, feels tingly and warm. I overall feel very mellow, non-anxious, and a little couchlocked, although I also have an itch to go to Target and stumble around buying things I need with a smile on my face. I feel a body high most in my lower back and sacrum usually, and I have a totally lightweight, beautiful tingling, warm sensation in this area right now. If you have any back pain or benefit from yoga, I would suggest doing some body stretching on this strain. My pains feel so much better now. And I'm not getting any of the anxiety, jitters, or paranoia I've been experiencing lately. I finally found what I needed with this strain.

The pre-1998 strain of Bubba Kush has always been on my personal top 5 list of favorite hybrids. Many of us that grew up in Southern California and during the 'Generation-Y' era feel a deep, personal connection to this strain as we smoked it in many of our early experiences with marijuana. These genetics first became widely available at some of the 1st medical dispensaries in LA during the 90's. Pre-98 Bubba Kush is well known as a cannabis containing several STRONG flavors. As I smoke this, filtered out of a heavy, beaker bottom JBD, the most prominent tastes and smells I associate with this bud are skunk and citrus smells followed by the strong distinct orange citrus flavor from the classic OG Kush that mothered this hybrid. Another obvious flavor your taste buds pick up quickly is a strong 'earthiness' that I like to explain as tasting exactly like wet soil, perfect for gardening. There are a couple fairly subtle notes that I always detect in Bubba which include coffee and pine. The beauty of the pre-98 Bubba Kush may ellipse both it's smell and taste. The plant has some of the most perfectly trimmed, shaped and crystallized buds known to man and has been known to yield large quantities. My favorite thing about pre-98 Bubba Kush is the amazing high it gives you!! Both body and heady, this high has been known to put me in any type of mood I want to be in at that time making it #3 on my favorite buds of all time list! If I have a lot of work to do that day, this bud has gotten me though these projects in record time. If I want to go fishing all day, this bud will give me the most fun fishing experience possible!!! One of the first things to consider about pre 98 is the bud structure itself. This is the type of bud you used to get back in the day, and before you smoked it you were thinking the dealer stiffed you with these small popcorn buds. Some things never change. I keep reading reviews with the same complaint. Let me explain that this is how pre 98 bubba, and a lot of good kush strains, should look. This is because the Hindu Kush mountains, where kush landrace strains originate, are so hostile the plants grow short stubby buds covered with resin to survive the cold. Anyway the effects of the strain are pure magic. Novice to veteran smokers are immediately hit with a giggly, euphoric feeling that spreads throughout. The strain works wonders for insomnia, but used in small bursts can make for "sweet, dope, fly" 90's style magic anytime. This was a staple indica back in the day and should be now for anyone. Remember small buds do not always mean bad grow or strain. Crank some Pearl Jam toke some Bubba and drift away.

unreal to actually taste and FEEL the difference. I am not sure what happened in '98 but I am glad that someone kept the original recipe ! Good Stuff !!!

Fifty year old weed virgin here. As usual I was in a hurry so smoked a good half inch off a tight joint in short order. First came the forehead tightness, then heavy head, then heavy all over and unsteady. It reminded me of hash plant in its narcotic effect. About an hour in I got mondo munchies. It was overwhelming in strength. Hit the libido too. And there was a psychoactive side as well. If I closed my eyes my imagination would run wild. I slept well and long. Minus one star because I am not a fan of the narcotic effect. It might have gone better had I been able to smoke at my leisure more slowly and measured. Night time only, I can't imagine trying to drive how I was. The wife and I did have good laughs, her on her Rick Simpson oil and me riding high on this stuff.

One of THE BEST strains for nausea, G.I. disorders, insomnia etc. It's hard to find the original "coffee bean" scented kind, but mosylt strains with close lineage will do the trick

Honestly, this was a very nice strain (would have given it a 4.5 if I could have.) I'll describe it to you from start to finish. Smell (unburned flower): When you first pull it out it has an almost citrus scent on it. It smells more like a nice hop used in an IPA (India Pale Ale) than the traditional skunk smell. Sight: Light orange hairs spindling throughout as well as shades of green ranging from dark to an almost minty green in some portions of the bud. Feel: It breaks down nicely, and doesn't leave your hands feeling too sticky. It wasn't too moist or too dry and feels like it was cured properly. Taste: I don't have the dexterity to roll myself, so I tend to pack a bowl. This time, I have a foot tall glass bong with an ice catcher. It has a nice earth taste that lingers with you. Definitely not the strongest herb I've ever tasted, but delightful nonetheless. Feeling: The effects are almost immediate (it doesn't creep.) While I feel the couchlock associated with indicas, I don't feel a complete brain fog so this is great when I need to do anything in the office. I've found that sense my brain isn't as cloudy, I can push myself to be productive. My pain is gone and truth be told, other than the couchlock, I feel positive about accomplishing things despite my body having little interest of it's own (if that makes sense.) Conclusion: The times I've seen this flower, it was incredibly reasonably priced (I got mine for $9 a gram when it was available) so if you get the opportunity to supply yourself with some of this strain for that price, definitely go for it, you will thank yourself! :) -Kitsune Natural Wellness
